Angraecum leonis ....problems!
I have (3) Angraecum leonis - 2 potted, 1 mounted. I've had them for months, almost a year. Nothings happened. No growth. No blooms. No new leaves. Nothing.....
I water, I fertilize, they get good lighting, and still nothing.
Am I doing something wrong here ? Is anyone else growing this Angraecum that could help me ?
Thanks.

I grow didieri (3), distichum, leonis, magdalenae and sequipidale. Mine aren't blooming but they are growing very well. I have them all in net pots and pure lava rock, outside. They get direct light until ten and again in late afternoon. I water frequently, as they dry quickly, usually with water from my goldfish container pond. One every week or so, I add fertilizer, very weak, a little Epsom salts and a bit of crushed tums for calcium (whether this works, I don't know). I don't worry about humidity as there is damp ground below the shelves and other houseplants and orchids around them. I hope this helps,
Goodluck,
Leafmite

When you say "good lighting" what exactly do you mean? Any idea how much. Mine is very particular with low light situations. It pouted and didn't do anything for a few months in the house, but perked right back up when I put it outside. Granted this increased temp/humidity/and light, but I'd venture to guess most is light.

The mounted Ang. leonis is in the windowsill and it receives Bright direct Morning AM light - plus it is under Artificial lighting - so I don't know why this plant is not growing.
Growing it outside ? In what type of light ? Direct sunshine ?
My patio gets late afternoon direct sunshine - much to hot for this Angraecum I fear - unless I want to burn it to death !

Mine is outisde in the Hotlanta weather right now (granted it's a bit hotter than I like, but it keeps going). It's gets direct light until about 11:30 or so, then indirect bright light the rest of the day.

I would venture that better lighting will solve your problem. Mine get as much light as my cattleyas and vandaceous orchids. The heat doesn't seem to have any adverse effect, not with good airflow. Introduce them gradually, though, to be on the safe side. In the winter, I had them in a south window.
Good luck,

Temps vs. Light. We have hot weather right now here in New Jersey too .......but hot weather is different than Direct sunlight .....I just burned up a Paph on my patio with the very hot direct sun it gets in the mid to late afternoons on my patio ......
I'll see if I can hang the Ang. leonis in a different facing direction so it gets Morning sunlight and not afternoon sunlight ......maybe that will work.
Thanks.
