Default Broken center leaf on Phal

I have a noid Phal that lost the center leaf, will the plant generate a new leaf? The leaves underneath look good and the roots look ok. I also have a Phal that looks to have crown rot, if I lose the 2 center leaves will the plant die? I bought these plants from a bride that used them at her wedding and was watering with ice cubes.

Usually if the center leaf goes, the plant goes. If the roots are good and the other leaves are good, you may get a basal keiki. Can you post a picture of the plants?

I agree with Zoi2. Crown rot usually does a plant in but wait and see if it generates a keiki. The plant with the broken leaf is not a problem. It should grow normally.

I was reading another thread that said to put hydrogen peroxide in the crown to try and save the one with crown rot. Just rinse it and don't leave it sit in there I would think

Broken center leaf on Phal Male

First of all most orchids do not like cold water let alone ice water.

Secondly try not to collect water at the crown as this might encourage crown rot.

I had a mounted phal that fell from 8 floors down and broke all it's leaves, leaving only one and a half leaves left.
It's crown was also partially broken however after a month or so, it recovered and now has 2 new leaves and roots sprouting out.

Here is a pic of it, not sure if you can see but there is a new leaf growing out.

I agree with above if you've had crown rot. However if the leaf 'broke' then the crown may still be fine and grow again. I have one where the centre leaf almost broke all the way through and was just hanging by a small bit. The actual crown was undamaged and a new leaf is now growing.
