As for Paramount. I read Bryon's response regarding the poor looking plants and I think it was sarcastic and quite rude. Suggesting you jumped the gun and don't know too much about these plants. Bad attitude for someone in sales when the customer is supposed to be right. I have had this flippant attitude from him too where he was suggesting it was the flaws in my culture of the plant. But when I described my conditions, he had to back down and admit they were ideal. I think he told my sister he is getting out of the orchid business when they move to B.C. and it sounds like it is time. Chuck, his partner will continue to keep his own large collection and do a bit of mail order.
I hope your plants pull thru and I guess with a response like that, no point losing any sleep over it.

I agree, the reply was a little bit rude. Could have worded it a little nicer. Anyways, I'm sure you will give it some TLC and it will perk up.
These are the orchids that got stranded for 18 days in the post office due to the strike. One has a bud. Cattleya Minerva Garrett (lodigessi x bowringianna) HCC/AOS a division.
Plants are way bigger than most nurseries consider as BS.
I will pm her contact to you guys.

Hi, Sorry I am not familiar with the rules in this forum and I got a warning posting something like that on another forum lol. So I am reluctant on posting it.
I am not really fond of reading manual, policies and rules. But give me a book about orchids and I will read it from cover to cover. I guess I should start reading them! Someday!

Are you talking about Orchid Geeks, or Orchid Talk, as I am a member of both! I do know that one of those sights has ridiculously oppressive rules when it comes to other vendors, but unless it is scathing, you are free to post about other vendors.

Are you afraid of the 'some forum' police?

V. roeblingiana under good conditions can grow a large amount of roots very quickly! For them to not be able to have the V. roeblingiana they sent you grow vigorous roots under their care since March, shows how absolutely incompetent they are with growing this particular species.
I really don't believe that the V. cristata they sent you was overheated in transit. If that was the case, the leaves would become spotted and have yellow patches intermixed with green. A good deal of leaves may also fall off during dehydration from being overheated.
The problem was that they were grown in moss. Most of the times, in the wild, Vandas don't even grow on trees with moss on them at all!

Hi,
My name is Danielle, and I saw your "Paramount Disappointment" post. I too have been disappointed with Paramount orchids. Most of the ones I have bought have been at orchid shows and all but one have died of a virus! Luckily, the rest of my collection did not suffer!
Anyways, I was hoping to pick your brain about your vanda seedlings. I attempted to send you a private message, but the board wouldn't let me.
Thanks!
Danielle
