K-L-N is a rooting hormone. There are other kinds in garden centres but this seems to be a preferred one amongst orchid growers. The other two items you mention are fertilizers and not the same thing. You can order it from Paramount in Calgary and likely other places. Possibly a hydroponics outlet. It's a good product to have on hand.

if you can't find any kln or superthrive, don't stress - while it definitely could be helpful - your plant looks mostly in good condition, and I think it will be fine without hormones - it's a nice sized plant, with pbulbs to support it (they will likely shrivel tho, as the plant uses the stored water and food - but that's their job) - it will get new growth before too long, I suspect, and after the new growth has grown a bit, they will start to grow roots.

That said, kln or superthrive can't hurt, and definitely could help

let us know how things go!

I bought some hydroton today. Would this work as a suitable medium?

I haven't used it myself - I would think it would be fine, especially used for s/h - hopefully someone can answer definitively. If you don't get an answer in this thread - try posting a new thread with your question in the title
gl!
