Default epi and cym ?

I have 2 questions hopefully someone could help me with. Firstly I have 2 cyms and I is on my deck facing south and it has produced 3 pbulbs 2 completely rotted and the 3rd looks like it is going the same way as the previous ones. I re-potted both if them and they looked good. After the re-pot the 2 pbulbs rotted and I have no idea why. I put them both outside several weeks ago and I don't over-water, I have been giving them a high nit fert with clear watering in between. Hopefully someone can help me out.

My second question has to do with a reed stem epi that I have. Do I cut the flower spike or do you leave them? My epi is growing 2 new spikes with new roots. Thanks for the help

I don't know what may be going on with the cyms sorry - hopefully someone who may have an idea will see your post soon!

I don't think epis do anything with old spikes, but I can't say for certain (haven't bloomed mine yet)
I'm sure someone can say definitively

(dang! I'm no help at all! - but, your post is getting bumped, and that may help!) gl!

It sounds as if you have black rot in the Cymbidium. There is no cure once this gets established in the base of the bulbs as it spreads through the attachments. The rotten bulbs will smell badly and the rhizome attachments will be black, not white, thus the name.
