Dendrobium question

Hey everyone. I just cleared off some crown-rotted pieces from an anonymous non-deciduous Dendrobium (if anyone can find my other post, with the pictures, it's the tall one). I tore off the dry sheath bits and exposed the living bit on the pseudobulb, and I'm wondering: Will the tip callus off at the tip, or will it continue to rot?

For some more information- I'm in Austin (it's been about 95- 80-85 where the orchids are because they're pretty well shaded behind some oaks) with humidity of about 35-40%. Should I be worried, or will it be fine? Do I need to chop it off? I'm also asking because it's got some new very healthy root growth going now.
