Mushrooms!?
Default Mushrooms!?

Hi Guys
Strange question...I have recently constructed a viv for my orchids and everything has been good...
But, I have recently noticed MUSHROOMS popping up!
My humidity is between 60 and 80% with nice air circulation from a computer fan.
The viv is covered with a glass top with a 1 to 2 inch opening along the back.
Substrate is a mixture of peat, cactus soil and sphag moss.
I have introduced some small house plants.
Are the mushrooms indicative of a mould/fungi problem? I'm guessing this will not be the same fungus that will destroy my plants/orchids.
Anyone else experience this?

Mushrooms are not the same fungus that can become a disease on your plants. I would not worry about them, however..... The conditions that allow the shrooms to pop up can be the same that allow bacteria and harmful fungi to grow. But since you say you have nice air ventilation, what you should watch out for is any plants (leaves or roots) that stay wet for hours at a time.
