Default Here's something neat!

Hi again all here's a pic of my sad poor phal. It had 2 spikes and almost bloomed it'self to death so I cut the spikes off and hoped it would start to put out some badly needed roots and leaves...Well I'm looking at it one day and it looks like another spike then a leaf that's become stuck trying to come out so I try to help it, you know where this is going....Well absolutely nothing happens in forever then I look and wee finally a new leaf. But the weird thing is the leaf is coming out the side of the uppermost leaf. Could this just be because the leaf was really deformed or is it a keiki? Thanks for the looks

I don't think it's a keiki. I think the previous leaf was forming a tube much higher than it should, this new leaf has then had to break out of that. If anything I would say it was the previous leaf that had a deformity, hopefully now this one has broken through it will grow normally for you :

I'm not sure it's a keiki. Seems more like that meristem was damaged somehow and then phal managed to recover and has some odd looking leaf growth for a while. Not sure though, hard to tell from the pics. Doesn't really look like an entire new little plant, just a leaf.
