pdeutsch- Welcome to OB too!
Don't panic about it - it doesn't have to be a virus! The first thing to do is not to keep it near the other orchid and watch the spots. If they do not deteriorate and stay the same, it's not a big problem.
It could have been left in very damp conditions with not enough ventilation?

As already mentioned above to Flamecat pics help alot in getting you better advice from the wonderful
members on this board.

Thank you camille, silken and nenella for your quick response regarding my Howard's Dream with black spots. I already feel more relaxed. I took some pictures but haven't figured out how to attach them. The above icon wants a url, but I have the images on my computer. More help please, then I'll send the images.

Thanks a lot,
pdeutsch

Default Howard's Dream with black spots on leaves

Hi all,
I think I'm getting the hang of this. The first is of the plant looking pretty well, the next is of leaves with black spots underneath and the third is a leaf with black marking on the top - larger than spots. There are 3 leaves at the top which are free of markings at this point.Howards Dream not doing well-howards-dream-jpg

Well done for getting the photos on. You need to post them in the thread Camille created for you - see her previous post, she put a link in.
