Psychopsiella lemminghei
Hello. Does anyone know where I can find a psychopsiella lemminghei? I found this mini a few weeks ago and instantly wanted one. I have called a bunch of places, but nobody has them. Please reccomend sources that have this plant.
Thanks

Chris I've been looking for this plant for a while with no luck. A friend found one on eBay and bought it for me. Needless to say I killed it within a month.
I had spoken to the guys from Andy's at the Redlands show and they told me that they had some and to give him a call at the nursery. I did call him today and he has some available so it looks like you and I both will have one each. He told me that somebody else had called today and I'm assuming that it was you.

Yes, I gave him a call earlier. That's funny how that happened. The only thing is is that it is so expensive. Such a small plant for such a big price.

I take it you are just getting into mini's?
"Sticker shock" is very common for those of us just starting out on the mini trail. I suspect it is largely due to our being conditioned by our purchases of "normal" plants to the idea that small plant = small price. Afterall, if one buys a seedling -- whether it be of a tree, orchid, or other plant -- we fully expect to pay far less than we would for a much larger/older plant.
What must be kept in mind when buying a mature mini, is that you aren't getting a seedling. (And just imagine what a seedling of a mini is like!) It would be akin to purchasing a show quality purebred dog. Whether the purebred in question is a shih tzu, Engish bulldog, or St. Bernard, you are likely to pay about the same price -- even though the St. Bernard is so much larger. And if the dog (or other animal) is of a rare/uncommon breed, the price you pay will be that much more.
It can be a trifle embarrassing, I will admit, when commiserating about one's orchid purchase with a friend who is holding their $50 purchase of a robust, spiking cymbidium in a 18in pot and my own similarly priced purchase doesn't even fill a small paper sandwich bag.

They are always expensive. The last one that my friend got me was $35.

Actually there is a good sized one right now on eBay. I was looking at it earlier, but as said above, they are generally quite expensive

I've heard that mounted Psy can be very picky and difficult, but I have no first hand experience with it. Good luck if you pick it up, and let us know if you find another source.

They are relatively easy if you and maintain +75% humidity at all times. At least that worked for me. It went down hill fast when I had to take it out of that environment.
