Phalaenopsis venosa/vivarium/foam background/mount?

I have recently bought Phalaenopsis venosa in a flask. I want to mount it into the foam background of my vivarium.
My question is whether or not this an appropriate way to grow because happen to think that the roots look exceptional, and this would show them off well. My understanding is that they grow similar to this in the wild.

I was also wondering has any one used lava rock to grow in? If so how effective was it, i wouldn't be surprised if the sharp rocks could cut up the roots. The only reason i ask is because i already have some.

this is my homemade vivarium the pics are about a month old so things have grown in quite a bit

average tempeture 70F
average humidity 70-80%
I have 2 12v fans

Your terrarium looks nice. I am sure provided the right temperature, humidity and light Phalaenopsis venosa will grow nicely on the wall. Did you know that Phalaenopsis venosa is warm to cool grower?
Anyway I use lava rock in my orchid mix. It is porous and holds water just enough without overwetting roots. I havent seen instances of cut roots. One thing I have noticed that it gets mineral buildup in about 2 years. I am not surprised because I use top water and we have hard water in area I live. Usually by then I have to repot it anyways.

well I looked it up and it says that Phalaenopsis venosa like the temperature to remain between 60-80F and the humidity should be at least 50% and I intend to get some red eyed tree frogs (when I'm confident the tank is ready/ have the money). Currently i only have 5 minows and a couple cherry shrimp in the water section.
