limp leaf - Orchid Board

My phal has a limp leaf. Its a new orchid I just ordered online it came bare root. I cut off all the dead roots and soaked in water then I put some root hormone on it and potted it in small chip bark that I soaked for 5 min.

Is the leaf one of the bottom most leaves? How many roots are left?

Its a top leaf. There are a pretty good amount of good roots left.

Is it green like the rest? Or is it yellowing too? Is it really wrinkly? Perhaps, an increase in humidity might help it. Sometimes though wrinkly leaves will recover somewhat though not fully (turgid or no wrinkles). There are some members in the chat room that you can ask for help. Everyone is really friendly here, and they might be able to offer you more advice.

It is not yellow or wrinkly just limp. I just re potted it this afternoon should I wait and see or do something about it now. I have it in a little portable green house so it has lots of humidity. I have also been misting it.

You didn't make any mention about black spots or any insects. So, This could also be just newer growth, many times it remains soft limp like for a couple of weeks until it really matures and hardens up. I've seen these types of growth from greenhouse growers.

I have had phals do this from time to time. Noting its a newbie to your collection, bare foot and newly potted I would leave it alone. Keep a close eye on it and from my experiences don't let it dry out between waterings. I would let it adjust to it's new enviroment slowly it may, but keeping the chid will be worth it.

Theres no spots or anything. Its green a lighter green and is the second from being the newest but its a big as the more mature leaves. I have I new leaf just starting to come up. and its firm and looks really good.

I agree leave it be for now and keep the humidity up, it might be just some simple stress.
Funny this posting comes up ... I don't know if this is or will be the case of yours, But I just noticed today that one of my leaves on the very top ... errr second from the very top was very limp also. I pulled the leaf back just abit to get acloser look -- Found 2 new roots beginning to poke out, Abit strange for roots being so high ... But there they were

I'm hoping that your phal decided to do the same thing mine did. It's just doing' it's own thing.
