Where do you find cheap shade cloth?
I'm building a terrarium and for some reason every time I measure the light varies from 2500 to 4500 fc's. I'm trying to figure it out, but I'm believing the 4500 fc's is the correct figure at the top of the structure.
I would like to find a shade cloth to bring the top back down to about 3000 fc's but know nothing about shade cloth.
What density should I be looking for and where can I find some cheaply?

If you're not looking for too much of it, cheesecloth could suffice. I've used it in a pinch when I needed something.

I used an old sheer curtain in my greenhouse.
I take it down and wash it over the winter. Due to be putting it back up soon. It was just an old one I was no longer using in the house.
Of course doing that I have no real idea how much light it is cutting, but my plants seem happy so I'm sticking with it for now.

I have bought some aluminet shade cloth from Gothic Arch Greenhouses the person I talked to on the phone was helpful and polite. I know I will look to them next time I need some.

I cut up (to size) an plain plastic shower curtain. Works just fine and very inexpensive. I tape it up in the places where I need it.
