Question Spots on Leaves

I noticed that my cymbidium insigne's leaves were turning yellow and black and the ends along with spotting. I have it at an east facing window without a sheer curtain in the NE USA. Is this from too much sunlight or something else?

Not from too much light. May be from root damage or from over fertilization, not sure which.

If I use water only for a month, will the spots disappear and the yellowing turn green or what's done is done?

The spots and the brown tips will not go away. The yellow could turn green again if the problem is solved - whatever it really is.

If your water's mineral content is too high, it could do that too, btw.
