V. Udom Gold x V. PranermPrai x Ascda. Suksamran Spot Care
I have had this orchid for about three years, and the poor thing has been struggling because I don't know the correct care for it. It is in a small plastic basket with no growing medium and the roots are just hanging out. The leaves are not a healthy green anymore and have the hint of brownish spots all over them. I have moved it into my master bath which gives it indirect bright light from a south facing window. What if anything more can I do? Or is a decent burial all I can hope for this once gorgeous plant? The flowers were a red-orange color with spots on it as far as I can remember. Please help me on this I would love to see those flowers again.

how do the roots look?
Phals aren't really my forte - have killed a number of them, but over the past couple years, have got the hang of them I think ...
Maybe try growing it in a pot with media ? That's what I would try - hopefully some others will chime in with suggestions

Did you give it enough water. Vanda's in a basket should get enough water. Spray it everyday or soak it. And does it stand in the full sun. The brown spots can be from the sun. Full sun is not so good. Morning sun is okay, but not later in the day.

I gave it a good soak today, the roots look plump and green. Should I do this every day? What about feeding fertilizer? In my master bath it gets AM sun.

when the Vanda is in a basket you should water it every day. You can soak it or mist it with a sprayer. Or you can also swop it, soak one day and spray the other. When the weather is hot it's better to water it twice a day. Barefoot roots dry easily. Morning or afternoon sun is o.k. Sun in the middle of the day can be to hot. Then they dry to fast. Fertilizer you can give once a week in this periode, and in winter once every two, or three weeks. Good luck.
