Are these keiki or new shoots?

Hi all, I bought these in home depot bagged orchids. The first one is a Lc. roseette warlandxc. chocolate drop red and the second is a encyclia shower of flowers. Does the new growth look like new shoots or are they keiki?

I have the same thing occurring on a few of my catts and epidendrum. That's new growth!

I thought that keikis were specific to phalaenopsis until I read the definition found in the glossary -
'Most commonly, keikis are produced on orchid genera such as Dendrobium, Phalaenopsis and Vanda.'

Definately new growth!! You saved it in the nick of time!

Catts don't make kikis. Any time you get growth from the base it will always be a new pseudobulb and the potential for your next flowers.

What is the encyclia mounted on?

A oak tree in my back yard. when I first mounted it was very dry out so I stuffed coconut liner/sphagnum moss behind it retain moisture during the day while at work.
