Now that it's time to put my Cym outside for the summer, should I slowly acclimate it to the climate/humidity change, or just put it out there and leave it? Thanks for any help you can give!!!!

It depends where it is going from and to. If the amount of sunlight will be an extreme change, you should acclimate it over a few days. Same for temperatures. Cymbidiums like a lot of light and can take very cool temps, but they can still sun burn if in very direct hot sun. A shock to any plant could set it back.

I start mine off in shade to partial shade and gradually move it in to full sun. Once it is used to it, I only protect it for the sunniest part of the day, but in August I move it in to as much sun as possible to ripen the bulbs.

I don't think humidity could be the problem.
But regarding sunlight, I would be very careful. Actually my cymbs are already outside, receiving only morning sun.
Later in summer I do very much like Vanda lover

I have put mine outside also. They are on the southeast side and get about 4 hours of sun a day for now. When you say you put them out into full sun, do you mean all day? Even the western side. I can do that, but am wondering about the heat. It gets very hot here, sometimes in the 90's. Fall will be no problem, as I can leave them out until it gets in the low 50's at night. But, can they take that much heat?

It's difficult to say how much heat they can take, but mine survived tempertures of over 100 without any damage. Mind you, when we get that hot it's only for a while during the afternoon, and it gradually cools down for the night.

Mine get temps of 90 in the greenhouse in summer, but as Vanda lover said about hers, it is only for a short while. I think quite a few cooler growing orchids can tolerate fairly high temps, so long as they get to cool down at night and recover. Also moving air really helps.

You can always move them into shade if they look too stessed. They really do bloom better if they get lots of light.

I am about to move my cyms out (I am in NYC). Last year (the first summer that I had grown cyms), I left it in the sun the entire summer and they did fine.
