My purchases from Ottawa show

Hi guys,
I just came from my very first orchid show. Never seen so many beauties together at one place. It was exciting to browse through them and take pictures, it was even more exciting to go through selling stands and buy them since my collection for the most part included only usual Noid phals besides some vanda seedlings and one miltassia. Here are my purchases:

First picture:
Maxllaria tenuifolia
Angraecum sesquipedale
Vanda brunnea seedling
Vanda suavis seedling

Second picture:
Vanda Roberts Delight 'Garnet beauty'
This is my first blooming sized vanda.

Third picture:
These are from the $5 discount shelf.
Oncidium without tag with finishing flowering, but pretty and very fragrant still;
Phal amboinensis
Phal Equalacea (equestris x violacea)

bellini girl, this is Emma, our pointer. She likes to check out new stuff, and wouldn't shoo away when I was taking pictures.
To be honest I didn't expect to see so many options, so I got totally lost and did not know what to choose. I will be more prepared for the next year show, starting to work on my wish list now.

If you start making your list now, it will be pretty long by the next show! My problem is that I make my list, but can't find anything on it! I end up with a different selection, but still want the ones on my list!

I know! That's a problem with wish lists.
Vanda_lover, since you have experience with large vandas can I ask you a question:
My vanda came with thin strong wire attached right to the plant stem not the basket. I hanged it against the window with south-east exposure. Now I am worried that because of plant weight wire will cut through the stem. What do you think? Thank you in advance.

If the plant looks unconfortable, I would remove it. I really find it inconvenient to grow them that way in a house, because you need to water so often. I like mine in a basket with sphag and charcoal, so you don't have to water every day. But perhaps you have a different growing situation. I find that of all the orchids I have grown, the vandas are my most rewarding. They are so easy to grow!
