Cheryl, the secret is how well you know your 'chids. If you suspect any disease DON'T DO IT! If you are pretty secure on the health of all your plants, don't sweat the dunkin. Like I said, I've been doing it for years but would NEVER strongly promot it because the danger from transmitted diseases. Mine don't have diseases (knock on wood) so far so I don't have a problem with it.

Mine are disease free to the best of my knowledge, but as long as it is workable for you , luck is on your side. My luck ...

I have absolutely NO intention of trying to sway you, but if you are confident of the quality of your plants, why not reduce your work load? Just a thought. I regularly mix a 5-gal pail of fertilizer mix and dunk the whole lot, one after another. I know it flies in the way of logic and best advice, but has worked for me for years. But you MUST be confident your 'chids are are well.

No swaying, just informative and decision making time to work smart. My only concern is those damn pesty teeny tiny gnats. But this would be a sure way to do preventative maintanance with a pesticide dunk..:
