Hello,
I got couple paphiopedilum plants that came in barerooted.
I have potted them into Shultz orchid mix - this is about all we have in stores here. I think it consists of bark pieces, some charcoal, definitely perlite. The bark pieces are not fine but rather medium sized, although I tried to throw away large pieces to make it finer.
Would they be Ok?
Thank you
I think you'll be just fine with that mix. Be careful not to water-log them initially. Once established, then moist not soaking in water. Of course there is more than just the mix.... your watering habits, humidity, lighting and air circulation all contribute to successful growing.
Thank you BikerDoc. I have one more question:
One of the plants came with bud, but when unpacking I accidentally knocked it off, so now it is just green stem. Should I cut it off or just leave it alone? If cut - how short?
Thanks again.
