Hi,

As a new owner of this, would appreciate some advice.

1). Whats the difference between anosmum and superbum? They look the same via an image search on the web.

2). Mine came with couple of flowers and keikis. When should I remove the keikis (roots are about 2"). As the keiki are growing from part of the cane, where should i cut? Do I remove the whole cane of part of it? Or should I just try to cut the keiki (and roots) leaving the canes intact?

Any advise is much appreciated.

According to Jay Pfahl's Internet Orchid Encyclopedia (aka IOSPE), Den. anosmum and Den. superbum are synonyms of each other.

In other words...

Yeah, you're right. They're the same thing.

I like removing just the keikis, I don't cut canes or anything like that. Too troublesome to deal with cut canes imo.

If the roots on the keiki are 2" long, it should be fine to remove from the mother plant.

Just carefully peel the keiki off the mother plant. If it doesn't want to come off, then leave it on until it will peel off easily.

Thanks for your kind reply. Did not expected keikis to be so easily removed.
