I have an orchid problem...
So, despite my poorness and my swearing not to buy another orchid, I went back to Kroger for a magenta phal with two spikes and some gorgeous blooms. So my savings account is crying but all my orchids are about to be repotted in a bark/perlite mix in plastic pots slid down in the ones they came in.... now I have four beautiful kids ....
Me:"My name is AmbyKay and my last orchid purchase was this evening...."
Crowd: "Hi AmbyKay"
Now seriously no more plants... atleast until I have an income.

Hehehe...I have the same problem. But now I unexpectedly am the proud recipient of a tax refund! So I have been anxiously awaiting the promise of more funds to expand my collection

The addiction only gets worse, as the variety is endless!
ambykay, you say you are going to slide the new pots back into their original ones after re-potting. Do the original ones have drainage holes? I've seen many phals lately slipped into a nice ceramic pot with no drainage at all. They need to have air and drainage so hopefully you are NOT sliding them into a closed pot.

Exactly,
Its very hard to get out of it, every month I try to control my expenditure on orchids, but I spend more than the before
Now I have more than 30 orchids in just 4 months...

LOL... I know what you mean. It seems like most of my spare money, little as it may be, goes to maintaining my orchids.

Until you get lack of growing space... you have to make choices than, get rid of the plants you have twice, the once that don't perform as nice as you hoped, the ones that bla blah...
Then you start buying again.... it's spring/summer and a lot of your plants play outdoors. Then falls brings colder and wetter weather, you have to bring the 'chids indoors and realize you ran out of growing space again.
You'll get very creative in finding space...
