My Oncidium leaves are yellowing, well just this one is yellowing all the rest are doing just fine. is this a sign of root rot? should I repot it in a straight fir bark? I have no idea why it turned this way. :/
that may be normal foliage dying - but - the most recent pbulb looks rather shriveled (older pbulbs do shrivel somewhat normally, but this one seems too shrivelled for being the most recent), so you may have root rot. I would repot into a smaller pot
I agree with WhiteRabbit. It looks a bit over-potted. Do you know how long its been in the media or did you just get it? The pseudobulbs do look shriveled a fair bit. Best look at the roots and since its out of the pot, possibly change the potting media and downsize the pot.
I believe this leaf is dying through a normal process, but I believe the plant has some root loss from rot. I noticed that the medium is very fine, what is the soil. Also, I would remove the saucer from under it. Finally, the plant seems a tad over potted.
Thanks guys. I put it in this bigger pot because teh pot it came in didn't fit it's roots anymore. so i put it in a half inch bigger pot. I'll wash out the old one and put it back in there. as for the potting medium. I think it holds too much water. I'm going to pick up some fir bark from the local pet store so it's in just pur bark and hopefully get it repotted today before I head to work.
