The most I've ever paid for an orchid was $125, a big Paph. sanderianum. The least amount I've ever paid (besides free) is $1, I bought a flask of 45-50 baby orchids and paid $45 for it. That made my collection jump from 20 individual plants to 65 individual plants!
I buy quite a few orchids online. There is a small local vendor that specializes in orchids called
The Plant House. I just bought 5 at a show, I was only going to get 3 but you know how it goes.
You can buy a real green phal from Big Leaf Orchids called
Phal. Yaphon Evergreen.
The local vendor above is actually an hour away. 30 minutes away is the only somewhat local seller of orchids, Hy-Vee. They seem to always have dyed ones and the orchids have a minimum price of $20 and can cost as much as $45 for a common, noid phal. And they never ever go on sale, they must send them back to the supplier.
