Where to buy orchids - Orchid Board

I am always on the lookout for orchids. Locally, I find them at Krogers grocery, Lowe's, Home Depot, and Publix grocery. Where do you find them?

Having never been to Warner Robins GA I can’t recommend any good local places. But I can recommend the Vendor Feedback section of the forum and any of the sponsors you see on this site

I get most of my orchids from other orchid growers, but I always go to Lowe's to check their clearance racks.

Online is the best place to go and the only way to get many non- noid orchids unless you happen to live by a grower.

I started this addiction to orchids at home depot, lowes, and trader joes

At this point, however, I'm really into my local orchid greenhouses. You get the best quality orchids that really bloom well and are in good health. They're the orchids that really give me the best, longest lasting blooms and best foliage (although I am still a sucker for the occasional lowes orchid. I love to get them home and get them into an appropriate potting medium!)

You may pay more for quality vendors but you get so much more satisfaction raising them. As an added bonus, the price keeps my numbers a little lower!

I personally recommend and have good experiences with Al's Orchid Greenhouse and Oak Hill Gardens.

I was thinking maybe national chain stores. I would never have guessed Trader Joes. I think I saw on another link OSH. Orchard Supply Hardware?

At this point, I don't feel confident enough with my growing skills to order online or go to a specialty grower. Maybe in the future, so cheapies for now.

I don't buy NOIDS; I order most of my plants online or wait for the orchid shows.

Just be carful if you ever go and visit any of the really big growers. I have to limit myself to only spending cash any time I am going to go near Carter and Holmes

Yeah, if I go to a show or to a nursary I have to limit myself to cash only as well... and I will spend ALL the cash I take
