Help with Den Green Lantern; sickly cane?

Hi, I recently picked up a dendrobium "Green Lantern," although the two largest canes seem very healthy, a shorter one has started to look sick. It's bottom two leaves turned yellow and fell off, and a black, moldy looking substance is appearing on the cane. Also, the cane itself is a much lighter shade of green than the others.

I was planning to repot this guy soon (observing what appears to be the start of mold on the bark) and was wondering if this cane was actually sickly, and if so whether they was anything I could try to do to save it?

It looks fine to me, but question... is the kane squishy? If it is, I think you should cut that kane back to the first bract and put on cinnamon, if it's not, give it some more time and see what it does. I think it's just the natural growth cycle, and this kane may have more leaves die back, but don't cut it at all, just let it go and soon your plant will send up another kane! : ))))

I would agree. If it's squishy cut it back and treat the wound with cinnamon. If it's first them it's likely fine (canes eventually loose their leaves anyway).
