Default repotting my Onc. Sweet Ears 'Bigshot' (UPDATE)

I've tried to update correctly in the past, but I still don't know how to, so please read my initial post underneath the one below.

I repotted my orchid this morn. and I would like your advice and comments if I did it correctly or not. As I was repotting, I straighted the plant since it was leaning.....but did I straighten it enough? Depending on what you say, I can repot again if I failed to do it right. I don't mind at all going through the steps again if you think best.

My concern yesterday (and last night) was that after I repotted and moved the growth inside of the pot, the roots would be too high above the media to grow down into it as they should. Now that I have repotted, I see that the new growth root tips are already under the media, so maybe I've over-reacted....or have I potted it incorrectly afterall? If so, please explain how I should repot differently.

In a previous post sometime back by RJ Squirrel, he "comically" (I'm sure) mentioned about himself "God Bless People Like Me" (or words similar to these).....I seem to be one of those people to a point. I sometimes have difficulty typing a question to you so that I convey the question that is in my head. In fact, another member once replied to a thread by me that I worried too much. I was new and trying to learn.

I'm still trying to learn, so please bear with me.

Once again, I would appreciate your advice and comments...
Vicki

Hi everyone,
I've had this Onc. 2 yrs. I repotted it soon after I rec'd it, as I always do a new plant I buy. I had planned to repot it this month but I've never had an orchid with a growth over the pot edge, so I wanted to be sure I know what I'm supposed to do before I start.
I would appreciate your advice,
Vicki
