Default 4 foot t8 light fitting for phals

Hi there OB,

My mate has just gave me some 4 foot t8 fluorescent light fittings with 36 watt tubes.

Would these work ok to give my phals better light?

My phals are all by a south facing window but at the moment they're not getting much sun as the weather is quite dull.

Thanks OB

It'll work.

I have that kind of florescent lighting over my snake tank that has live plants. The live plants are Fittonia verschaffeltii, Peperomia griseoargentea 'Silver Dollar', and Selaginella willendowii - of which the Fittonia and Peperomia are doing well (the Selaginella grows sloooow). They all grow in similar lighting situations to Phalaenopsis.

Hi there, I think they work very well, I've been using these for years now. I'm able to bloom catts, dens and many others with this type of lighting. Besides I like cheap and easy - give them a try

Regards,
Gloria
