Growing in tree fern pots?

I recently received a d. loddigesii from a fellow OB'er, and would love to try growing it in a tree fern pot. My only question is how exactly you go about doing it?

Do I need to keep moss over the roots until it is established to keep it moist enough? Do I need to tie it down, or just set it in there?

The plant is starting to send up a new growth already. I'm hoping for a lot of growth this season so maybe I'll get a few blooms this winter.
