Growing in tree fern pots?

I recently received a d. loddigesii from a fellow OB'er, and would love to try growing it in a tree fern pot. My only question is how exactly you go about doing it?

Do I need to keep moss over the roots until it is established to keep it moist enough? Do I need to tie it down, or just set it in there?

The plant is starting to send up a new growth already. I'm hoping for a lot of growth this season so maybe I'll get a few blooms this winter.

I have an aphyllum that's very happy growing in a fern pot. It's a nobile with a similar growth habit to your plant. My plant had just a few spindly canes and keikies when I planted it this way. First I filled the pot recess with a small amount of good quality moist sphagnum. Then using florists wire I fashioned U shaped hooks to stake the plant to the pot. I left the keikies attached to the shriveled canes and staked them around the pot to encourage growth of the new plantlets. Beneath each keiki I tucked in a tiny amount of sphag. and to water I misted or dunked the pot 2 or 3 times a day. Tree fern dries rapidly and my plant is grown outdoors in Central Florida, so frequent waterings are a must for my climate.
