Bulbo spike or not?
This is my first bulbophyllum, and it's a frostii. I bought it last year and the vendor said it would mature and flower in about a year. We all know how accurate that can be (or not) sometimes, lol...
So, what do you guys think? Is it a flower spike or not?

I just got one of these. I don't know if it is a spike, but let's hope so. That way you get a flower and I know what to look for!!

(Sigh)
I figured as much, lol... From the pictures I've seen I thought the spikes were much thinner than this. Thought I would check.

Bulbo spike. Not the same species as yours, but you'll have an idea of what to look for when yours spikes.

WOW, thanks guys! So when is the appropriate time of year for the Frostii to bloom? If I'm remembering it correctly, it's spring. It's not quite spring where I am yet, but the crocus' have just started to flower.

Your Bulb. frostii can potentially throw out spikes this year. It looks big enough.
Does it experience at least a 10 degree F temperature drop between night and day?
How about seasonal variations in temperatures?
