miltoniopsis

i have cymbidiums, oncidiums and phalaenopsis and they are doing very good im just waiting for them to bloom , but they are really growing very well - now my question is , if i have success with them , will i have success with miltonia and miltoniopsis, the only thing i can find on them is that they are simmilar to oncidium

First, if this is a repeat of what you already know, then bear with me...

But...

Miltonia and Miltoniopsis are grown a little differently from each other and their flowers are morphologically different.

Miltoniopsis are called "Pansy Orchids" because the flowers are somewhat flat and the lip, petals, and sepals are rounded like a pansy flower.

Miltonias are more star shaped.

Miltoniopsis like to be grown a little wetter than Miltonias do.

Miltonias also tend to be warmer growing than Miltoniopsis are. Miltoniopsis are mostly cool to intermediate growers.

But for the most part if you've grown a cool to intermediate growing Oncidium, the culture for Miltoniopsis is a bit similar.

If you've grown intermediate to warm growing Oncidiums, the culture for most Miltonias are a bit similar.

thank you for the information , i think i will wait for the oncidium to bloom and then i will get some miltoniopsis.
