Whatever you use, orchids like Phals need to have something where their roots can breath. That's why the medium you have looks too dense, it's more of a terestrial orchid medium and will smother the roots on one like this.

No problem. Often folks can't find how to post a pic on an existing thread. If you need to do it again then click the 'Go Advanced' button just below where you type your reply to an existing thread. It brings up a window with more options including adding more pictures.
