fertilizing phals

I'm new to this board and semi-new to orchids!

I have two Phal orchids: a purple one that I got last year that is blooming for the second time (on it's second spike), and a new white one with two flower spikes (one of those with a branch).

I haven't fertilized either since I got them, but I recently found the fertilizer I got with my first orchid (a cat orchid that unfortunately died because I couldn't get it enough light). It's 20-20-20 fertilizer for orchids, but in the directions it mentions using a 20-10-20 fertilizer for phals.

It is okay to use 20-20-20 with orchids, and how often should I use it?

You'll get lots of differing opinions about feeding, but I would recommend mixing that at 1/2 teaspoon per gallon, and watering with it two- or three times out of four, switching to plain water the other times.
