Superthrive isn't really a fertilizer, but a "supplement" with hormones and vitamins.
I apply most everything, including "Superthrive" to the leaves because of how I grow. My orchids hang outdoors, and when I water, feed, treat with pesticides or fungicides, or supplement, everything gets wet.
I've never been as worried as some about getting leaves wet, especially early in the day. They get rained on on a daily basis during summer, so water has just not been a big concern.
When I started using Superthrive, they seemed to appreciate it, but it's really hard to be quantitative, because everybody got treated. Did they really respond to Superthrive or did they respond to good growing weather? Who knows, but I do it now every few months - just couple of drops per gallon along with fertilizer.
