Hard cane dendrobium--new green bump

Hi~~~

My hard cane dendrobium--canes are yellowy-green (like a granny smith apple)--has put out a Keiki & a small green bump on one of its nodes. It has no leaves, just the cane, keiki, & bump. I am assuming that it is entering a growth cycle. The tips of canes are green. It is watered weekly (when potting mix is dry).

Is the new bump going to grow into a flowering stem?

I'm fairly computer non-savvy. I'll see if I can figure out how to post a pic. How exciting, a spike. We'll have to wait & see. When I got this plant, it was resting, so I don't really know what it's supposed to look like.

Most of my collection were purchased when resting--I got a great deal. So I really don't know what to expect.

without a picture it is hard to be sure, but if the plant is happy ( is it happy? no leaves sounds un-happy..) than i wouldnt be surprised about a spike

I figure it is a deciduous hard cane dendrobium. The canes look happy. (?) I mean, they are fim, not dead, not mushy. The tag that came with it only says "Den. pink".

I'll adopt a wait & see attitude. (we watch, we wait, we see)

Ok, still have not had access to camera to download picture.

I figured out that I have some sort of Dendrobium nobile. The canes appear to be similar to the older canes that were filmed in the AOS youtube video with the gentleman who was demonstrating keiki removal.

Accirding to what i read, it seems that the bump is a flower shoot. This weekend, I plan to look at the roots. I have stared to fertilize weakly weekly as advised by the research that I have come across.

We'll wait & see.
