Phals under artifical lighting
Default Phals under artifical lighting

So I recently hooked up a hydrofarm 4' 4bulb T5 fixture. Now I just got two new phals that are blooming. Should I put these under the lights or keep them in a shadier or further spot until the flowering stops? Would the light help form more buds or just speed deterioration of spikes/flowers?

Pete

Of course the plant needs light to carry on its photosynthetic processes, so it should be in the same light level that it grows under. With a 4-foot, 4-bulb fixture, you should be able to elevate the light a considerable distance from the plant.

The leaves are about 16" from the light but one of the spikes and flowers is then only a couple inches from the light. That is the one thing I was worried about. Will this hurt that spike/closer flowers?

Thanks
