I hate it when I do that! I did it with a reed stem epidendrum once. Some of them break so easily!

I did that recently with a Eplc. Siam Jade. It didn't break all the way off so on a lark I stuck it back together and put the clip where the break was. It's still blooming! Granted the first flowers to open aren't lasting as long as they normally would but there is only one bud out of 6 left to open.

I tried scotch tape on mine! Unfortunately, it didn't work.

So sorry for your loss!
Next time use a straw....you know, like those you use to sip a drink... anyway, use it to safely blow the water right out of the crown! Works for me every time.

That really sucks. I've broken some too, but luckily it's been a while since my last accident (knocking on wood).
I agree, blowing water out with a straw is probably much safer! I also use a corner of paper towel to suck the water out.

I'm happy to hear I'm not the only klutz. There's nothing more frustrating than nurturing the plant to bloom, then having great hopes when the spike appears, then in a moment of not thinking, it breaks.
I feel your pain Bob.
Bill
P.S Thanks for the straw tip Ryan, never thought of that.
