Smile New dendro owner tips?

I was given 2 dendrobium orchids my neighbor brought me from Hawaii. They are in eco houses. The red one dropped its flowers shortly after I got it. The white and purple one still has flowers and couple died off but the rest are doing well. I have had them since 5 Nov and only have the instructions that are on the eco house and tag. The white one is getting pretty tall for its house. Any tips or special info i should know about.
I have pix on the gallery under skeenski for anyone who wants to look.
Thanks for your help in advance Linda

Are you calling the plastic carton the eco house? I've not seen those before, how does the plant get air circulation?

I'm confused (not much different there).

You show dendobiums in what appears to be a plastic bag like used to transport orchids to/from the grocery store and vandas some of which seem to be growing in clear plastic boxes. What is the ECOHOUSE you refer to?

The Vandas don't look particularly happy. Have you looked at the sticky in the Vanda forum on growing in vases?

The dendrobium looks pretty good, especially considering it may have been in the plastic sleeve for that long.

Seeing you live in Utah makes me think that you have pretty low humidity this time of year. That could be the issue with the Vandas.

I guess, could you be more specific about what you're looking for.

Yes that is what it says it is. I have opened the white orchid one up at the top because the flowers are so tall. It has some holes in it. 2 for watering and 4 for checking the soil. I thought I was keeping the humidity up keeping them in the eco house. They seem to be doing ok. flowers look good. The other one has red flowers but they died about 3 weeks after I got it. I think they were just old but it might have been shock traveling from Hawaii to Utah.

Maybe somebody else can chime in, because I have zero experience with growing like this.

My impression is that it could make a nice compact humidity chamber, but that you could easily have mold and rotten roots.
