Identification Help Please
Default Identification Help Please

Can you help with an ID for this orchid? I brought this orchid back (I guess I should say smuggled) from the Bahamas about 15 years ago. It has lived these last 15 years in a medium-sized pot in a west-facing window that gets sun for at best an hour a day.

Suddenly, it's blooming!

Would be grateful if you can help identify this orchid. Here are the links to two shots.

Thanks.

It's a paphiopedilum. Probably somewhat similar in parantage to the Maudiae hybrid. Maudiae has become a word used for a type of Paph as well as the original hybrid, so I would say that this is a Maudiae type of Paph.

It's probably impossible to give an exact ID. There are so many of these types of Paph and they can look really similar to each other. Yours is a really pretty one.
