I find that brassadas and other Oncidiinae intergenerics thrive in semi-hydroponics.
As background, Daniel and I have been conversing on this plant on the First Rays Semi-Hydroponics Forum, but here is some info I did not know until now:

1) Some plants are simply "climbers", with the new growth being above, rather than beside the old growths, so that may be totally normal, rahter than a sign of a problem. The fact that the growths dry out is a matter of the cultural conditions being improper.
2) This hybrid is a primary cross of Ada aurantiaca and Brassia brachiata (now known as Brassia verrucosa). The ada is a cold-grower from 2000-3000m elevations in wet, Columbian forests. The brassia is tolerant of warmer conditions, but the hybrid probably needs cool, moist, very humid conditions, and that's hard to accomplish in a home environment.
