Hi there-
I was so excited about a new spike growing that I tried to stake it too soon. The top section of the spike broke off from the lowest node. The whole new growth was only about 3 inches tall and the top 2 inches or so detached at the first node. It's still a baby spike - very rubbery to the touch. Have I lost it for good or will it regrow? Pleeeease say regrow!!! I could kick myself....
The pictures of your greenhouse are incredible. Thanks for sharing those. Unfortunately the broken flower spike is probably not going to make it. But if the plant really wants to bloom, it's possible that it will send up another spike. Good luck.
You may think its simple Vicki but I love the rafter look it has -- cool rugget look to it. Orchids look happy!
Its beautiful!
Looks like I too need to upgrade my photo's. I put my camera down for about 4 months or so, bad thing to do, So now I have to practice up again.
I've got some phrags going now and waiting on some paphs to bloom soon. I'll get some new photos up soon (I hope)
Many thanks for the pictures Vicki. Wishing you a wonderful holiday season
I did the same thing with my Miltonia....I left them on but it never re bloomed, they were still green as of a couple weeks ago but then winter came and we turned the wood stove on and it got really dry in the house, then the bloom stems shriveled and dried up along with some of the leaves....hope I helped!
