It looks like it's growing in potting soil.
If it is, do know that there are currently no Phals that have been discovered that are known to be true terrestrial plants, especially the one you have (which is a man-made hybrid), most of them grow on trees (which is known as an epipytical plant). I can't think of one man-made hybrid that has been or is currently mass produced commercially, species or hybrid, that is truly terrestrial. About the closest thing that Phals are to being terrestrial plants are the ones that grow on rocks (lithophytes), which is not the one you have - but they do exist.
