Well these are my last pics. The other day, I noticed the leaves were not doing so well, so I unpotted it (it was in sphag, and discovered almost all of the roots were rotted. One had 4 semi good roots, and the other only had 1. So I'm cutting off the spikes, in the hope that they can recover My boyfriend is heart broken, and has left the room because he can't watch me cut off the spikes. I tried to explain that it is to try to keep the plant alive, so it can concentrate on getting better, instead of trying to bloom.

Sorry to hear about the root situation. But, good on you for doing the right thing to attempt to save the plant. Once it has good roots and leaves there will always be more blooms.

That is what I kept trying to explain to him, because he REALLY did not what me to cut them off. I asked him If he would rather I leave them on, and have it most likely die, or have a better chance of it living, and gives us more flowers in the future. He understood, but he didn't like it.

Oh my! I'm sorry Hopefully the spikes will last a while in some water for you both (if that's what you've done) but well done on the root-check and good luck for the recovery
