Default Bent/Creased flowers... will they fix themselves?

Hello!

I just received an absolutely beautiful plant from Kawamoto orchids... I really couldn't be more pleased. Healthy, big and happy!

Only things is she seems to have bloomed while in transit to me! Most of her flowers are creased, bent, or held somewhat closed. Is there a chance these will be fixed in a few days and open the way they should?

The plant in question is a Bc. 'Hawaii".

Thanks!

Sure!

Some of these seem somewhat ok - others are heavily folded down.

If the flowers are still opening, they may open more. If it was shipped with the flowers 'set', then it probably won't fix itself.

That particular cross (looks like a nodosa hybrid) will not have particularly flat flowers to begin with. Many of that breeding stay a little (or a lot) cupped forward.

Thanks guys!

My main concern is that some of the petals, sepals and lips are either bent completely closed or at odd angles. I purchased her budding - in person I have seen these fairly wide open and flat so hopefully they aren't done opening up yet!

The full name is Bc. (Little Stars x Maikai) 'Hawaii'. :-)

Little Stars x Maikai = Island Stars

You should get some additional opening, warmth and humidity will help, but you might have to wait till the next flowering to see them at their best.

Here's hoping they open up - where it is it is nice warm and humid!

The tag doesn't read Island Stars... Is it similar or is this a variation? All of the 'Hawaii" photos I have found are near identical where 'Island Stars' is not white. Or am I just misunderstanding? :-)

Thanks for the clarification! I'll write up my own tag.
