Default Time to get a bigger apartment

So I was just realizing, with 1 dog, 2 cats, a turtle, puffer fish, 17 yo son, boyfriend and 35 orchids, all in a 500 sq ft apartment, I think it is time to get a bigger place. So I can have more room, for more orchids. Thy have taken over my east and south windows, with a little spare room for my cats, or they would go all psycho on my chids! I also have a west facing patio, but my gardenia and lemon tree get that "window".

Looks like you're squeezing every ounce of joyful growing space out of the current location. Everybody looks healthy and happy in the pics!

I just have a little brackish water green spotted puffer. His name is puffy (we are REALLY imaginative when it comes to names).

I want to know more about the puffer too!
A) I am extremely jealous of you chid setup!
B) I ADORE puffers!
I have a 68g brackish for a figure 8 puffer and a freshwater red eyed puffer in with my fire eels (for now, they are still babies!).

Did you make those slotted wood hanging planters or did you buy them somewhere? I like

In the south window, with the majority of my orchids, I used the top 1/2 of a bakers rack, and screwed that puppy into the window sill. I used one of the "racks" from the bottom 1/2 and attached that o the bottom of the sill using c-clamps that I got at the hardware store. I had to remove the top shelf from the rack, since there wasn't a lot of space between that one, and the one below, so I used that shelf and screwed it into the east window.

The baskets I bought at my local nursery. I think you can find them on eBay...

My puffer is just a little guy, he's still in a 10 gallon tank. I'm sure if I moved him into a bigger tank, he would also get bigger. I'm just kind of stuck though.... Do I get a bigger tank for the turtle (he is an illegal size red eared slider, maybe 2"), and move puffy into his 20 long tank? I don't have room for the 20L and another larger tank, which would probably have to be a 50, to technically be "longer" than the 20L. Then there is the fact that I also want a bigger tank for my "orchid terrarium". Currently it is a 10g.

A 20L should be big enough, but it should be okay until you figure something out. Are either of you members at thepufferforum?

Looks like you're done a nice job using every single square inch of growing space that you have! I think moving to someplace bigger would be useless, it'll be filled up with more plants and animals in no time!

Maybe you could figure something out to make use of your patio. A baker's rack covered with plastic at night? Don't know how cold it gets there, but I'd be trying to find a way to make use of that space. West isn't too hot in winter. Good Luck!!!!

Gee. I have a house with about 2500 square feet and lots of windows, but I only have about 80 orchids! Should I get a smaller house, or more orchids?
