I like many of the compact phals. They can be very pretty, long lasting and some are even fragrant. They are great for growing indoors. Phal Lea Marie Salazar 'Red Dragon' is very pretty, 10" tall in bloom and very fragrant. Phal Sogo Lawrence 'F1982' is beautiful. Those two and many other compact phals are available from Norman's Orchids at orchids.com. Big Leaf Orchids also has many of them. Get one and see how it does for you.

Tucker, do you put your phals in an orchidarium? I tried to put one of mine in there and it hated it.

I can't read the meter very well.

I can only see the numerical values, but I don't know what they stand for (F, C, % - ???).

I would also sanitize the orchidarium before use.

could try haerella odorata, or maybe some masdevallia, depending on what the temps would be

Try Masdevallia infracta or Masdevallia princeps for a test run.

Use seedling grade wood chips and a clear plastic pot instead of going all moss. See how they like it.

With water, it may get too humid for them to be grown potted in full moss.

You can also try them mounted.

In fact, whichever species you try, get two. Pot one, and mount the other.

The space in your orchidarium is not that large, so small sized plants that don't sprawl all over the place is something to consider.

The two mentioned Masdevallias are not super rare, they're fairly hardy, and temperature tolerant.

If you mess up, there're plenty of places to seek them out.
