Well first of all the schoenorchis fragrans is mounted on a piece of wood with some moss to help hold moisture to the roots. I mist with deer park water because that is what I use for my geckos. I completely soak the wood and moss in water. Then I do it again when I get home from school because the moss is dry. Since it is closer to night I am careful not to get the crown wet.

Too much moss on the Schoenorchis fragrans.

In fact, you can probably do without it.

Try dismounting the Schoenorchis and remounting with much less moss underneath the roots, (edit) rather than have the moss on top of the roots.

Or you can be gutsy and try growing without moss at all.

There might be some root rot going on, or at least the beginnings of it.

It'll be a while before the Vanilla blooms.

Beautiful plant. Nice variegation.

There reLly isn't that much moss it's just the way it is wrapped around the piece of wood. Plus it has a new root about half an inch long wrPping around the wood. I can tell it's new because it's really green.

I forgot, but I believe it's somewhere around late spring and early summer.

If you dont mind me asking where did you get the seedlings? Were they in a flask or did you get them right out of flask? I would love a flask of fragrans, but nobody seems to sell them. Mine to is kept inside but during the summer it will defiantly join the vandas outside.

They were in flask.

I got it from some random person on ebay.

I don't know how else to get a hold of them.

I will check eBay out, but I'm just curious as to how much you paid for them a d how many you got in the flask. Also when did you buy them? Thanks.

I don't remember how much I paid for them.

There were 8 in a flask (a hobby flask).

All 8 are still alive. And it's been roughly 3 or so months. They're all growing new roots that are adapted to life outside of the flask.
