Hello Joshua! I tried to grow one of those little bunches of curls. It didn't last too long. They are very hard to get started. By the way, I only live about 20 miles from where they grow in the wild. So my growing conditions are optimal. After that one died I spent a little extra and got an established one (still tiny, but with actively growing roots) from Andy's. This one is doing great. I have had it about 2 years. It is sending out roots regularly now. It is about 2" x 3" and attached to the mount. It grows outside in my shade house. It likes bright but not direct light (about 5-6,000 fc) and high humidity and high temps. 100 degrees and 90% humidity will just make it send more roots. Water every day when it is hot, but reduce to twice a week now. I expect that root growth will slow down now since it has been cool at night (rare for us). I try not to hit it with the fertilizer or other chemical sprays when I treat my other orchids. I like your jar. That will help keep the humidity up. Be careful that the mount doesn't stay too wet. Even the Fak dries out some in the winter. Try to keep the temp up while it is so tiny. Good luck, these are very hard to get started!
