Yes to all above...just wait. Mom & babe look great.
Only thing to add/ask - is the mother plant in active growth right now or is it resting? If the mother plant is actively growing, that is when I would expect the keiki to send out roots. Look at mama's roots (specifically active root tips).

There's a reason we start to refer to them as our 'chids.

Hi Bob, For some reason, I didn't respond to this question! The mother plant had a big root spurt a couple of months back but she seems to have settled down again. The one difference between this Phal and my others, is that this one has never sent out any aerials but my others do quite happily - another one of her quirks I guess!

I have had a Keiki from about the same time as you. It just now has a little node that looks like it will be a possible root. All of my research indicates that it can take at least a year before the roots are big enough to separate it from it's mother. And patience is key when waiting for those roots.
Best of luck!

My basal keiki has been around long enough to grow 4 leaves, but the roots didn't begin showing up until just recently. Hang in there, your baby will grow some too.

Thanks Good Luck with yours Paul - Let us all know how your node gets on!
Junebug, I've never had a basal Keiki, but I shall let mine know that if it doesn't show roots by leaf 4, it's in trouble!!!

Hey Jennyfleur, well I sit corrected. My node turned out not to be flower spike like I thought it was. It's a spike! LOL...
I'm just going to let the mom and baby do what they want and hope for the best. My mom doesn't look very happy though. But if she dies, at least I have a duplicate of her.
Keep us updated on your keiki as well! I'm very interested to see how your progresses.

Hey Paul Mc, sounds like a flower spike is a good substitue for a root! I hope Mamma can pick herself up for you.
Still no news on mine I'm afraid. However, even though I'm trying not to check every day, I can't help it! Maybe she's saving up for Christmas and I'll come downstairs to a nice root present
